Wheeler on the Bay Accommodations

Every stay at Wheeler on the Bay Lodge is designed to be a peaceful, immaculate sanctuary. Located directly on the edge of Nehalem Bay, our historic, family-owned motor lodge features uniquely styled, non-smoking, and pet-free rooms tailored for romantic getaways, outdoor adventures, and relaxing coastal retreats.

For a general overview of the rooms:

Views:

  • Rooms 1, 2, and 3 have small back decks with partial bay views.
  • Room 4 has no deck but to make up for that; there is a large jetted tub to enjoy.
  • Room 6 has a north-facing private deck with a bay view overlooking the marina.
  • Room 7 has a large waterfront deck for viewing the sunset, with a panoramic view of the bay. This deck includes a BBQ grill, picnic table, and Adirondack rocking chairs.
  • Rooms 8 and 9 have great sunset views from bay-front decks with bar-b-ques.
  • Room 10, 11, and 12 do not have a bay view but have other special features.
  • For everyone, there is a terraced patio area with furniture, picnic tables, and bar-b-ques. It offers serene views overlooking our dock and the bay.

Every Room Includes:
A kitchenette with a galley size sink, a microwave, an under-counter fridge, and a full-size coffee maker with ample coffee. Included are wine glasses and a corkscrew, basic dishes and utensils, and a selection of teas and hot chocolate. Each room has a gas fireplace (except for #12). All have kitchen tables and chairs. Each room has a shower (including the jetted tub rooms). There is free Wi-Fi, a TV with DirectTV cable and a DVD player (with access to a vast free lending library of over 1000 movies).

Chinook – Room 1

The Chinook has a queen size bed and also a twin bed.There is also a full-size sleeping futon with a comfortable 8” gel memory foam mattress. The deck is secluded, encircled by the green foliage of the park with a peek-a-boo bay view. This family-friendly room sleeps four comfortably.

The Garden – Room 2

The Garden Room has a queen bed, a twin bed, and a full-size comfy sleeping futon. A fireplace, a kitchenette with table and chairs completes the room. From the deck, you can see a partial view of the northern Nehalem Bay. This family-friendly room comfortably sleeps four.

The Blue Heron - Room 3

This room features a queen bed, a twin bed, and a full-sized comfortable sleeping futon. The furnishings include a fireplace and kitchenette with table and chairs. The deck sits under a giant fir tree. From there you will see a stunning northern view of the bay and boat docks. This family-friendly room can sleep four people.

The Ebb Tide is a favorite for a romantic stay because of the large jetted tub, perfect for relaxing together. This peaceful room has a queen size bed, a fireplace, a walk-in shower and kitchenette with table and chairs. There is no deck. However, you can venture down to the patio area overlooking the dock for a perfect view of the sunset. The Ebb Tide sleeps two people.

The Otter – Room 6

This is a delightful room with playful otters decorating the walls. The Otter has two comfortable easy-chairs in front of the fireplace. The two beds are a Queen and a Twin. The distinctive feature of this room is a private deck that overlooks the northern Nehalem Bay and the quaint town of Wheeler. The Otter can sleep three people.

The Honeymoon Suite, our most spacious and secluded room, feels bright and airy beneath its vaulted ceiling. Snuggle up beside the cozy fireplace, relax in the deep jetted tub designed for two, or refresh in the large walk-in shower. The suite features a comfortable king bed and a spacious private deck with sweeping panoramic views of the bay and mountains. Settle into the Adirondack chairs, fire up the BBQ, and enjoy the peaceful scenery.

The Sunset Room is right on the bay, with a deck from which to enjoy the view. Our smallest room sleeps two comfortably in a queen size bed. The deep jetted tub is a combo tub and shower. Included are a fireplace and a kitchenette with table and chairs.

The deck has a BBQ grill, and the Adirondack chairs are perfect for viewing wildlife and an ideal sunset. Frequent wildlife sightings include seals, blue herons, egrets, eagles, river otters, cormorants, ducks, kingfishers, Roosevelt elk and more depending on the season. The Sunset Room sleeps two people.

The Mermaid Room is a tranquil corner suite designed for a romantic getaway. It features a queen bed, a cozy fireplace, a kitchenette, and a spacious walk-in shower.

The highlight of the suite is a fragrant cedar-paneled solarium with an elevated, deep jetted tub for two. Surrounded by windows, this private retreat overlooks the bay and offers an ever-changing panorama of sunlight, drifting clouds, dramatic storms, brilliant blue skies, and star-filled nights.

It is also an ideal place for nature watching, with views of the feeding grounds of blue herons, egrets, and cormorants. Outside, the private deck is furnished with two Adirondack chairs and a barbecue grill.  The Mermaid Room sleeps two.

The Pelican - Room 10

This spacious room has two queen beds with a back window overlooking Nehalem Bay. The room features a gas fireplace, a kitchenette, a walk-in shower, and a dining set, making this a comfortable room to relax after a day on the water. Curl up in front of the fireplace and watch one of our vast selections of free movies. The Pelican Room also has a Smart TV, so you can continue binge-watching your Netflix favorites. This room sleeps up to 4 people.

The Suite Sea - Room 11

The Suite Sea is perfect for families, fishing buddies or couples that snore; it has two separate bedrooms each with a queen bed. The living area includes a remarkably comfortable modern sofa bed. The sofa makes an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a movie. Alternatively, borrow a board game from our collection and reconnect with your family. This room has no bay view. It can sleep up to 5.

To preserve the peaceful atmosphere and pristine condition of our lodge for all guests, please note our core house rules before booking:
  • Pet-Free & Smoke-Free: To accommodate guests with severe allergies, all rooms and indoor property spaces are strictly 100% smoke-free and pet-free.
  • Spa Tub Care: To protect our luxury jetted piping systems, the use of bath bombs, outside oils, foaming soaps, or glitter is strictly prohibited in our suites.
  • No Indoor Seafood Processing: To keep our guest rooms smelling fresh and clean, cleaning or cooking raw fish and crab inside the rooms is prohibited. We provide a professional fish cleaning station on our private dock and outdoor BBQ kits for your seafood feasts!
