YOUR GPS IS PROBABLY INCORRECT:

All GPS apps (except Waze) will almost get you here and yet in the last block they go wacky and you end up in a dirt parking lot by the public boat ramp. Don’t let this happen to you!

Below are directions and also pathways to take if you get seasick on windy roads:

GPS WARNING:

WARNING: If you are driving from the north, your GPS Systems will NOT place you at our location, neither will On-star or any other GPS based system. They think our street does not exist! Please follow the driving directions below.

If you are driving south down Hwy 101:

Once you arrive in Wheeler your GPS is going to tell you to turn 1 block BEFORE you should. DO NOT turn on Rector Street! Go one more block and just across from The Old Wheeler Hotel and Rorvik St. turn RIGHT towards the water on an unnamed private road. Now you have arrived!

IF you are driving from Portland, get carsick, or just hate winding roads: It is advised to take Hwy 26 all the way to the coast and then head south on 101 towards Cannon Beach. The GPS always says to take Hwy 53 which is ten minutes faster. Indeed, it is ten minutes faster. However, Hwy 53 is a horrible twisty road that is not very pleasant; in the spring, you will run over frogs. And then once you get to Wheeler, your GPS is going to tell you to turn 1 block BEFORE you should. DO NOT turn on Rector Street! Go one more block and just across from The Old Wheeler Hotel and Rorvik St. turn RIGHT towards the water onto an unnamed private road. Now you have arrived!

If you are heading north on Hwy 101:

The GPS is going to tell you to turn one block AFTER you should. Instead, turn LEFT towards the water onto the unnamed road which is across from the Old Wheeler Hotel and Rorvik St. There is a sign at the intersection that points towards City Center and the Post Office. TURN LEFT!
